Tuition which Works 

Every learner is different. Lessons are carefully planned around the individual’s current level, priorities and goals -whether that means building confidence, strengthening core knowledge or preparing for an important examination.

 

All tuition takes place online in a supportive, focused environment.

 
Free 15-minute consultation

Before tuition begins, I offer a free 15-minute online consultation. This is an opportunity to:

​

  • discuss the learner’s current strengths and areas for development;

  • agree clear priorities and realistic goals;

  • identify the most suitable course of tuition;

  • ask any questions about lessons or how online tuition works.

 

There is no obligation to proceed.

Individual Tuition

​

 

All prices are for a 60-minute individual online lesson. A six-lesson block offers a saving of £15 and helps learners maintain the regularity and momentum needed to make sustained progress.

 

What is included?

 

The fee covers much more than the lesson itself. Each learner receives:

 

  • individually planned tuition shaped around their needs;

  • carefully selected or specially created learning resources;

  • focused support with vocabulary, grammar and examination skills;

  • regular feedback on strengths and next steps;

  • appropriate practice between lessons;

  • access to lesson materials after each session;

  • a brief progress review at the end of every six-lesson block.

 

Additional Incentives

 

Family discount: Where two children from the same household receive regular tuition, a 10% discount is applied to the lower-priced tuition arrangement.

 

Referral credit: If an existing family recommends a new learner who books a six-lesson block, the referring family receives a £15 credit towards its next block.

 

Priority booking: Learners who book a six-lesson block receive priority when choosing or retaining a regular weekly lesson time.

 

Booking and Payment

 

Individual lessons must be paid for at the time of booking. Six-lesson blocks are paid for in advance. Lessons within a block should normally be used within eight weeks, unless another arrangement has been agreed.

 

A regular lesson time is reserved only once payment has been received.

 

Cancellations and Missed Lessons

 

I understand that unexpected situations sometimes arise. However, lesson times are reserved exclusively for each learner and may require other enquiries to be declined.

 

  • Lessons may be cancelled or rearranged without charge when at least 24 hours’ notice is provided.

  • Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will normally be charged in full.

  • If a learner does not attend a lesson without notice, the lesson will be charged in full.

  • If a learner arrives late, the lesson will still finish at the original scheduled time.

  • Genuine emergencies or exceptional circumstances will always be considered fairly.  

  • If I need to cancel a lesson, it will be rearranged at a mutually convenient time or the full lesson fee will be credited or refunded.

 

Free Consultation Appointments

 

The initial consultation is free, but the appointment time is still reserved specifically for you. If you cannot attend, please provide as much notice as possible. A missed consultation may be rearranged once. Repeated missed appointments may mean that I am unable to offer a further consultation or reserve a regular tuition time.

Small Group Tuition

Small-group tuition offers the benefits of expert teaching, structured practice and interaction with other learners at a lower individual cost. Groups are limited to four to six learners of a similar age, level and learning goal.

Small-group sessions are available at various times during the week.

​

All prices are per learner for a 60-minute online lesson. Learners may form their own group with friends or classmates, or they can join groups of learners following the same examination specification or Key Stage 3 course.

​

What group tuition includes

​

  • A structured six-lesson programme based on shared priorities

  • Active speaking and listening practice

  • Vocabulary, grammar and examination preparation

  • Carefully selected or specially created resources

  • Practice activities between lessons

  • Regular feedback on progress

  • Access to lesson materials following each session

Group booking arrangements

 

  • Small-group courses are booked and paid for as a complete six-lesson block. A learner’s place is confirmed only when payment has been received. A group will normally begin once the minimum enrolment of four learners has been reached.

  • If there are insufficient enrolments, the start date may be postponed. Clients may choose to retain their place, transfer the payment to individual tuition or receive a full refund.The per-learner fee is based on the number of learners registered at the beginning of the course and will remain fixed throughout that six-lesson block.

  • If an individual learner misses a session, the lesson fee cannot be refunded or transferred because the session will still take place for the other group members. Lesson materials will be provided to help the learner catch up.

  • If a learner withdraws after the course has begun, fees for the remaining sessions are not normally refundable, except in exceptional circumstances.

  • The withdrawal of one learner will not increase the fees charged to the remaining members during the current block.

  • If I need to cancel a session, it will be rearranged. If rearrangement is not possible, the appropriate lesson fee will be credited or refunded.

Forming a Group

 

You can enquire about:

  • joining a group that is currently being formed;

  • creating a private group with friends or classmates;

  • or arranging a focused revision course before an examination.

 

Group places and start dates are subject to suitable availability.

Adult Conversation

Build your confidence and enjoy using German in a relaxed, encouraging environment. Sessions focus on practical communication, listening skills, useful vocabulary and natural conversation. Tuition is suitable for beginners, returning learners and more experienced speakers. No examination preparation is required.

Individual tuition is tailored to your level, interests and reasons for learning German.

 

Private conversation groups

 

Learn with friends, relatives or colleagues in a private group of four to six adults.

Each session lasts 60 minutes. Fees are paid in advance for the complete six-session course.

 

Open conversation groups

 

From time to time, I may offer places in open German conversation groups for adults of a similar level.

 

Six-week course: £110 per person

 

Courses will begin once a minimum of four participants has enrolled and will have no more than six participants.

 

What to expect

 

Sessions may include:

​

  • everyday conversation and practical scenarios;

  • travel, food, culture and current topics;

  • pronunciation and listening practice;

  • useful vocabulary and everyday expressions;

  • accessible explanations of grammar where helpful;

  • supportive correction and feedback;

  • optional activities between sessions.

 

The emphasis is on communicating confidently rather than speaking perfectly.

Booking conditions

 

  • Individual sessions and course places are confirmed once payment has been received.

  • Materials from the missed session will be provided where appropriate.If a course cannot proceed because the minimum number of participants has not been reached, clients may transfer their payment to another course or receive a full refund.
